There are several business methods, system, tricks, strategies, and latest tools online. The truth is that success of your business doesn’t depend 100% on any latest software, online applications, new guru’s system or strategy – all that change often. See, software that people used few years back to manage their business is not what they are using today.
Six years ago there wasn’t anything like blog, web 2.0, social media, facebook, myspace etc. Have you ever cared to ask why yahoo is the most popular online site among Nigerians including the un-lettered people? It’s because several years back yahoo was the best free email provider available and many people think internet is all about sending and receiving email. No wonder they call Nigerian scammers YAHOO- YAHOO boys. But you know what; yahoo is not about email alone.
Yahoo is online portal that provides lots of other services of which most popular are free email, business directory and search engine. Just about few year ago another group of guys came in with google and change the way people search and exchange email online with google search and google email.
Presently, things are even gradually changing again. Recent research shows that the second best search engine people use to find information is YouTube. Lucky google. If they haven’t buy youtube before now they will probably be shaking now, struggling to maintain their stand as number one online search tool.
Let me take you back memory lane further. Years back if you want to set up a website without any understanding or knowledge of html or designing skill, only free applications you can use are tripod, geocities etc. But today, there are lots of online web editors that makes publishing online easier.
Long ago you can just buy millions of email address, spam them and make cool bucks. You can use FFA hosting and get instant result. But today all that have changed.
See, if I am to continue I may have to write a book on history of internet marketing. But you don’t need that now. All I just want you to know is that tricks, tools, methods, systems, and latest guru strategies change often. The only thing that doesn’t change is sound and basic business principles. One of these important principles is law of demand and supply, giving value to group of audience. This is what the late Copywriting and salesmanship sage, Gary Halbert called ‘hungry crowd’.
You can learn every marketing tricks, strategies, tips and even buy latest internet marketing guru’s software or home study course. If you don’t have ‘hungry crowd’, people that are desperate to buy what you are selling you can’t progress.
So, the first action step to your internet success in 2009 and beyond is to find a group of hungry crowd with money to spend.
In my mentoring course I have this equation that I coined not long ago. I called this Instant Money equation:

Hey, this is not another Albert Einstein equation and I am not taking you back to school. I will explain here. But before I explain let me first tell you how I coined the equation.
Long ago, when I was struggling to make money online. I read a book by one of the popular motivational author. In the book he said and I quote; ‘ if you are not making enough money, it means you are not helping enough people solve their problem’.
Later in that year I added extra ENOUGH to the equation after listening to another expert saying the money you make will be determined by how big the problem you help people solve is. So here is my new equation:
“If you want to make enough money you have to help enough people solve enough problems”
Enough People + Enough Problem = Enough Money

How to find hungry crowd online
If you want to make money you must find hungry crowd to serve. These special group of hungry crowd is popularly called niche market online. You must find your niche.
So how do you find a niche?
There are several ways to go about this. I have shared several ways in the past on this website. Today I am going to share few strategies that I have used in the past with you and recommend a good tutorial for you to consider.
How I got niche idea for some of my past successful online projects:
For my dog project; I got the idea of dog niche market from the news. I surf internet news websites like CNN, USA post, BBC etc a lot then. It wasn’t most interesting thing to do because I had to visit each site one by one to know latest story they have. It’s a lot better now because I can access over 1,000 news site and online media without even visiting their website. Nowadays, there is a news syndication system called Feeds. Almost all the popular website have feeds. All I have to do to get latest news from them is to subscribe to their feed. Friend, it’s a simple thing to do but beyond this article. I may write a separate article on it later.
For my aquarium project: About 9 years ago I was highly passionate about aquarium and ornamental fish to the extent that I went for short training under Nigerian number one fish expert – MR FISH. Years later because of my interest in business opportunity market I didn’t take it serious. One day few years ago, I was reorganizing my book shelve and I came across the aquarium manuals I bought then. So I just went online to see if other people shared my interest. I used Google to search for online community (forums) on aquarium. I discovered that there are thousands of active online forums where people discuss everything about aquarium. That was how it started. I did same thing with my water gardening project and several other niche websites that I have today.
It’s either I have previous interest in the market, got the idea from the news, or use internet to find what people are selling already.
Your own niche can be anything too. You are probably part of several hungry crowds already without knowing.
If you are reading this article you are part of Internet marketing Entrepreneur crowd – hungry group of people that wants to know how to make money online. Lol
If you are a parent with kids you belong to group of parents that are hungry for information on how to parent their kids better.
Your own area of interest is probably European and Italian football league. You probably have your favourite club. Up gunners! (Note: before you assume that I am arsenal fan, I don’t have any favourite football club. As a matter of fact I don’t have much interest in football at all. But I like to watch Nigeria players when they are in final stage. It gets a lot interesting at that stage dude.)
Find hungry crowd to serve and you will find money.
